Her latest conceptual chapter moves deep into mythology and world-building, with Lady of the Moon unfolding across eight songs corresponding to the eight phases of the moon. Behind its Black Forest setting, female characters and supernatural mythology lies an extraordinarily detailed creative process—one that reflects McGee’s growing fascination with what becomes possible when songwriting moves beyond autobiography and into imagination.

Following chart recognition in Canada and the United States, multiple New Music Award nominations and her 2026 Country Artist of the Year honor, McGee could easily have remained within familiar territory. Instead, she chose reinvention.
